Peat wrap - a natural way to regeneration

Peat has a wide range of uses that have found their place in medicine and in various healing and regenerative therapies. "Peat wraps are used to treat a wide range of ailments, including musculoskeletal pain, muscle and joint problems, spinal disorders, as well as to improve overall vitality and the immune system. In addition, it is an excellent complement to regeneration after demanding sporting activities or after intense stress. Peat contains various organic and mineral substances, the most important of which is humic acid, which improves local blood circulation and tissue metabolism," says Marek Tkáč, M.D., MBA, head of the rehabilitation department at AGEL Bratislava Hospital.
Peat is a natural material rich in minerals, vitamins, organic substances and other valuable components that penetrate the surface layers of the body in contact with the skin. The application and heating of peat causes blood vessels to dilate, thus causing the skin to become engorged. This process helps to improve metabolism, relax muscles and reduce pain. To achieve maximum effects, it is advisable to supplement peat wraps with massage, which not only acts directly on the affected part of the body, but also as a preventive measure against the development of other diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
"The effects of peat therapy are often used in combination with other therapeutic methods, which allows patients to achieve long-term and effective results such as improving blood circulation and metabolism, relieving pain in musculoskeletal disorders, detoxifying the body, improving skin elasticity and preventing premature aging, or supporting the immune system. The action of peat wraps usually lasts 20 to 30 minutes. The peat is applied directly on the body with a heat carrier and left to act on the skin, thus overheating it and activating its healing effects," adds Marek Tkáč, MD, MBA.
